My list of Salmonids (so far)…

Over the past several years, I have consulted a lot of maps, researched in books, on the web, and conferred with other enthusiasts, all in my quest to catch native trout and salmonids. As a result, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful places, put a lot of miles on my rig, and had a helluva time. Along the way, I have completed the California Fish and Game Heritage Trout Challenge twice (certificates #66 & #144), as well as the Wyoming Game and Fish Cutt Slam certificate. Here is the photographic result of all of my efforts. I’m still in the process of locating and catching other species…so the quest continues. Enjoy!

    Hi,

Your photo’s, they are very nice! What is the biggest trout you have landed? Do you have Facebook page? My husband and I do most all our fishing in Wyoming. Do you have a favorite place to fish?

My brother is an expert fly fisherman…I admire that he taught himself how to tie flies. He named one after our mom, called “Alice Lucy.”

I would love to go fishing with him one of these days before I die. Sadly, we have not spoken in 19 years. I have three grown children that would like to meet him someday. Anyway, I wish you the best fishing always, and hope to see more of your fish pictures…

    Blessings to you,
    Cathy

      Hi Cathy-

I’m glad you like the page. It is more or less a place that I keep track of the fish that I have caught, not something I update a lot. The largest trout I’ve ever caught was a 26″ Lahontan Cutthroat in Pyramid Lake, NV., but I’ve seen photos of even larger ones in there, but not caught by me…yet.
I love fishing in Wyoming, and I’d have to say my favorite places there are up in the Wind River Range or the streams near the headwaters of the Gray’s River. Great fishing and beautiful scenery. My absolute favorite place to fish is in Montana, as I have caught so many fish there and I love the scenery and the feel of the place. I have so many streams there that I love to fish, I can’t say I have one favorite. I head back to the Rockies every summer for at least to weeks so I can fly fish. The pursuit of exotic trout is just another thing to explore and learn about while I’m back there or planning my trip there.

      See you on the river!
